Auto Claim Reporting - How do I report my claim?

You can report your claim in one of three ways:

• You can file your claim online usually (takes about ten to fifteen minutes)                         
• Call your insurance carrier direct                   
• Contact your agent   

Some of the information you might need includes:

• Date of the occurrence                         
• Type of loss or damage                         
• Location of the occurrence                         
• Related injuries                         
• Others involved                         
• The damage to your vehicle   
• Condition of your vehicle 
• Whether authorities such as police, fire department, or ambulance were notified 
• Names, addresses and telephone numbers of all persons involved
• Operator's drivers license number, insurance company and policy number 
• Copy of police report or police report number
• Copy of any towing bills 
• Current mileage of your vehicle
• Address and telephone number of where your vehicle was towed
• Whether authorities such as police, fire department, or ambulance were notified

  Accident description including:

  • Location & street address, cross streets
  • Approximate speed of your vehicle
  • Direction each vehicle was facing
  • What each vehicle was doing (stopping, turning, etc.)
  • Description of accident scene (parking lot, intersection, highway, number of lanes, speed limit, signs, traffic lights)
  • Weather conditions

Remember, you're going to be in contact with your claim representative throughout the claim handling process, so you have plenty of opportunity to provide additional information. The important thing is to report your claim as soon as possible, even if you don't have all the information. The sooner you report your claim, the sooner we can start the claim process.
